That day will be sprung on you suddenly, like a trap
Today’s Gospel feels like a wake-up call. Jesus warns us not to let our hearts become weighed down by indulgence or life’s worries or anxieties. I realise how easily I can slip into distraction—busyness, comfort, constant planning—only to miss God’s presence. His advice to “watch at all times” and pray, challenges me to live more intentionally. It’s not about fear, but faith: staying alert, humble, and dependent on God. In doing so, I trust that I can stand firm, find the strength to resist fear and temptation, ready to face whatever lies ahead, sustained by his strength and grace.
Let us pray:
The Lord bless us, and keep us as we start out our day.
Thank you for spending time to reflect with us this morning.
Amen.
