Good morning. We invite you to join our Oblate Family Morning Prayer. We join Fr Dermot Mills OMI in Inchicore for today’s time of prayer on Tuesday, January 30th 2024.
Today is the feast of Blessed Margaret Ball and Blessed Francis Taylor of Dublin.
At the centre of these two stories, we have two quite different people. One of them was Jairus, a synagogue official, a public official, probably well known to his neighbors, probably a good speaker, confident., Jairus makes his plea to Jesus in public, and the woman didn’t want to be noticed. They approached Jesus in different ways, but each with faith and trust. And so we have the silent cry of this woman who was probably embarrassed by her illness, and the public cry of Jairus for his child.
They were two people of very different backgrounds, but both showed deep trust and faith in Jesus. And we see the mercy of Jesus towards each of them.
