Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family – November 23rd With Fr Dominik
Good Morning. We join Father Dominick from the Legion of Mary Presidium, Bluebell and from the Oblate parish of Our Lady of the Wayside in Dublin.
On this Memorial Day of St Columban, the Irish Saint and a wonderful example of missionary zeal and monastic life.
In the Gospel the Lord is asked the question when the end of times will come, and what the signs of it will be.
He does not give a direct answer – in fact He warns us against those who claim to have the answer: do not be deceived, do not follow them!
In the past years we have met many tribulations. When we open the newspapers or switch on the television, all we hear and see is this.
Jesus says do not be terrified, it is not the end. In a few weeks time we will celebrate the feast of the birth of Christ. God made known to his people through the prophets: do not be terrified, it is not the end. He gave us a new beginning with the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
May God bless you at the beginning of this new day!
