Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family: Wednesday August 10th With Fr Vimal Parunanthu OMI
Good morning dear friends! We join Fr Vimal in Saint Joseph’s Parish, Colwyn Bay for morning prayer. Today we celebrate the Feast of Saint Laurence, patron saint of the poor and of cooks. Let us ask Laurence to intercede for us and our families.
A beautiful sentence for our reflection from today’s first reading:
“Each one should give what he has decided in his own mind not grudgingly or because he is made to, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
Today, Jesus is asking us tone the cheerful giver – a difficult thing to! Laurence was a cheerful giver – he gave up everything out of love of the poor and for the Lord.
Thank you for joining us this morning.
