Morning Prayer with the Oblates, Friday June 4th With Fr Dermot
This morning we join Fr Dermot Mills OMI in St Michael’s Parish, Inchicore in Dublin. Fr Dermot in our reflection this morning shares an experience of how he realised how we both have to try to both listen to the word of God and to live it, in our daily lives – to learn it within in our own hearts as well as know it in our heads. Inspired by the imagery of God the Father pruning us, and this time of year being a busy time for gardeners, we are encouraged to allow ourselves to be “pruned” in our own lives in order that we too might grow in faith and love.
“I am the vine and my father is the vinedresser. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, to make it bear even more. You are pruned already by means of the word I have spoken to you.” John 15:3
Thank you for joining us this morning.
