Oblate Morning Prayer, Monday January 17th With Pat Hughes in Rockferry
Good morning, Pat Hughes brings today’s morning prayer to you from her home, Rockferry in Merseyside, England.
“No one uses a piece of new cloth to patch up an old coat, because the new patch will shrink and tear off some of the old cloth, making an even bigger hole. Nor does anyone pour new wine into used wineskins, because the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the skins will be ruined. Instead, new wine must be poured into fresh wineskins.” – Mark 2:18-22
What a challenging statement for us! The new wine is the Good News and teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ and that we need to lay down our old habits and turn our hearts into new wineskins and by our lives show that we believe in the new wine in ourselves and in our church.
We hope you enjoy this morning’s reflection – thank you for joining us.
