Oblate Morning Prayer Sunday October 18th With Fr Irvin
Today is Mission Sunday – let us pray today especially for all missionaries throughout the world. As Oblates of Mary Immaculate we are a missionary congregation and our mission is to proclaim christ and his kingdom to the most abandoned. We pray that the Lord of the harvest send labourers into his harvest.
Today Join Fr Irvin Morastil OMI of St Mary’s Star of the Sea Parish in Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland. In today’s gospel Jesus is not drawing a contrast between Caesar and God – who can equal God in the first place?
They handed him a denarius, and he said, ‘Whose head is this? Whose name?’ ‘Caesar’s’ they replied. He then said to them, ‘Very well, give back to Caesar what belongs to Caesar – and to God what belongs to God.’ – Matthew 22:15-21
