The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Friday 2nd August 2024
Good morning all, we join Mossie Lyons of Kairos Community Trust once more in London for our Oblate Family Morning Prayer on Friday, 2nd August, the 17th Week in Ordinary Time.
Gospel | Matthew 13:54-58
A prophet is only despised in his own country
Mossie reflects: “We pray today for those who are suffering with an addiction, or from substance abuse.
Think of all the feast days of saints prophets. We celebrate. What’s not our own? Eugene de Mazenod, a prophet of his time.,Archbishop Oscar Romero, Teresa of Calcutta – charismatic prophets manifesting God’s presence in a specific way. Prophets for justice, equality, peace, clemency. Prophets who stand up, speak up and act for future generations. For our fragile world, against greed and selfishness.”
Thank you for joining us this morning.
