Watch: How the Oblates became home to the Lourdes Grotto of Dublin Replica Grotto built in Inchicore
Did you know that there is a replica of the famous Grotto of Lourdes – where Our Lady appeared to Saint Bernadette – here in Dublin?
It was built by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate after the very first pilgrimage from Ireland and the UK to Lourdes in France . As travel was more difficult back then, the Oblates wanted to bring Lourdes home, so those who wished to pray at the Grotto could do so here. The Grotto means so much to us, particularly this year, when we cannot physically travel to Lourdes on our annual pilgrimage. Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us!
We hope you can join us online for our Virtual Lourdes Pilgrimage from the 19th-22nd of September 2020.
Morning Prayer will return tomorrow at 8.30am. Please Join us!
