The Mission Development Office

Supporting some of the world’s poorest communities to achieve a better future…

The Anglo-Irish Province of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, through its Mission Development Office, is supporting some of the world’s poorest communities to achieve a better future for their children. Below is a sample of the projects supported during 2015 thanks to the generosity of our donors:

  • New maternity and neo-natal unit at Seboche Mission Hospital, Lesotho
  • The Ferrando Resource Centre for Children with Multiple Disabilities, Lesotho, dedicated to the education and training of children with disabilities.
  • Research to inform the further development of a successful teacher in-service training programme, Maseru, Lesotho
  • Nutrition programme for school children, Haiti
  • Mission support programmes to ensure that Oblate missionaries can continue to work with marginalised communities in Madagascar, Paraguay and Ukraine
  • Support for projects in the areas of basic healthcare, skills development for healthcare personnel, and community-based responses to healthcare needs: Zimbabwe, Malawi, South Africa
  • Continuing support for healthcare and education ‘summer schools’ for children from Madagascar’s remote forest communities, who don’t have access to these basic rights
  • Leadership development programmes for young people in the Philippines, Ukraine, Haiti, Colombia
