The Gift of Counsel: Morning Prayer Saturday July 24th

With Aidan in Bluebell

We join Aidan Pidgeon, from Clondalkin, Dublin, at the Oblate parish of Lady of the Wayside in. Bluebell, Dublin. We continue our 8 days of meditation on the gifts of the Holy Spirit with members of Bluebell parish. The gift of the Holy Spirit for today is counsel – to warn us of the deceits of the devil and the dangers to Salvation.

Today we hear about the parable of the sower – the seed is the Word of God who is the highest good. This is the seed he sows, therefore it cannot be anything but good.

“The one who received the seed in rich soil is the man who hears the word and understands it; he is the one who yields a harvest and produces now a hundredfold, now sixty, now thirty.’” Matthew 13:23
