Friends, good morning. We are delighted to be able to pray with you from Our Lady’s Grotto in Lourdes, France. It is wonderful to be back in Lourdes once more and to bring your prayers and petitions to the Shrine here in France.
Join us over the next few days ahead of Our Lady’s Feast Day for prayer, mass and we hope that you can experience through these days a sense of the peace, hope and healing message of Lourdes.
Today’s prayer on Day Nine of Our Novena is led by Mary O’Brien, who is part of the Oblate Lourdes Pilgrimage team.
Please join us also for Mass at 12noon, celebrated in the Crypt chapel – which is nestled between the Rosary Basilica and the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, and was the only church of the Sanctuary which was open during the time of Saint Bernadette.
Novena Prayer to Our Lady of Lourdes
O Mary, who appeared to Bernadette in the hollow of a rock, in the depths of winter, you brought the warmth of a presence, the friendship of a smile, the light of grace.
In the depths of our lives so often insecure in the hollow of the world where there is evil, bring us hope and restore our confidence.
You who said to Bernadette, I am the Immaculate Conception, come to help us sinners. Give us the courage of conversion, the humility of penance and the perseverance of prayer.
We entrust to you who are our Lady of Good Help, all whom we carry in our hearts and our prayer, especially those who are sick and all those who have lost hope. You who guided Bernadette to discover the stream,
Guide us to your Son who is the source of eternal life who gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit, which helps us to call God, our Father.
Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.
Saint Bernadette, pray for us.
