Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family, Saturday March 26th with Mary O’Brien in Dublin
Dear friends, good morning! Please join Mary O’Brien, a member of the Oblate Lourdes Pilgrimage Team for our Oblate family morning prayer today. Today’s scripture is a well known parable – the Pharisee and the Tax Collector. We could have an instinct to cast the Pharisee as a sinner and the tax collector as a saint. But on reflection, both men have good qualities. You might find it helpful for this reflection to imagine yourself becoming one or the other of these characters. What do you feel? One man asks for nothing, having everything. The other asks for the greatest gift of all – for mercy, forgiveness and love. Let us not tire of asking God for his forgiveness and his love.
“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the man who humbles himself will be exalted.” – Luke 8 9-14
Thank you for praying with us this morning.
