Morning Prayer With the Oblate Family, Tuesday April 26th With Angela McCulloch
Good morning all, we invite you to join Angela McCullough for our few moments of short prayer and reflection this morning. Angela volunteers with the Oblate Pilgrimage to Lourdes with the Kairos Community Trust Group, and created New Dawn Counselling Services in London.
Jesus said to Nicodemus:
‘Do not be surprised when I say:
You must be born from above.
The wind blows wherever it pleases;
you hear its sound,
but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.
That is how it is with all who are born of the Spirit.’ – John 3:7-15
Today’s gospel is a conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus. It is one that provokes deep thought and pondering. Angela shares that in the Twelve Step programme (a programme of fellowship for the recovery from alcoholism and its effects) we are led to believe in a power greater than ourselves. However this can be very difficult for members. This process of coming to believe is not an easy one, but can be made simple, as Angela shares with us personally with us how this came about for her! Becoming open minded to this process allowed her to believe in a loving God who will lead us to eternal life.
Thank you for joining us this morning for prayer together.
