Morning Prayer from the Grotto in Lourdes, February 10th With Gerard Bennett
Good morning and welcome to this our final day of our Novena to Our Lady of Lourdes on Friday February 10th. Today Gerard Bennett of the Oblate Lourdes Pilgrimage team welcomes you to the grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. It is such a special place, and we hope you too feel very connected with this sacred place.
We know that for so many of you, these days of novena have been very important, and all of us bring our intentions and our wishes to Our Lady. And really, prayers have been offered from all corners and all of our prayers have come together. And so today is the culmination of that with this final day and to do that right here in Lourdes.
Imagine the number of miracles that have resulted from people making their pilgrim journey to the Sanctuary of Lourdes in the 167 years since that event took place right here, and even in an Oblate context, as we mark this year, the 140th anniversary of the very first Oblate pilgrimage to Lourdes in 1883, many people in Ireland and Britain and throughout the Oblate world have experienced miracles as a result of the prayers offered here for all of the Oblate family.
Tonight you can pray with us at the Torchlight procession on the Eve of the feast day, and tomorrow we hope you can join us for Mass at the Grotto of Lourdes at 11.00am.
