A Morning Reflection On The Feast Of Oblate Day With Fr Fabio OMI and Fr Diego OMI

Good morning, dear friends. Welcome to today’s morning prayer on Monday, 17th February. Today we celebrate the Oblate Day: 199th anniversary of the Papal Approbation of our Congregation. Our special edition of our morning reflection comes from the Oblate General House in Rome with Fr Fabio and Fr Diego OMI.
Saint Eugene De Mazenod
“If a man does not steep himself in obedience, he is good for nothing, whatever be his virtues.”
Fr Diego reflects: “It was a risky decision to come here, but St Eugene De Mazenod took this decision, to come to Rome. He spent almost nine months here in Rome trying to discuss the different issues about the wording of our constitutions and rules, and even our name. We were Oblates of Saint Charles, now we were born in the church as Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate.”
Thanks for joining us this morning.
