Friends, join Fr Michaell Brady OMI in St Michael’s Dublin for today’s morning prayer for Advent.

Today’s gospel is a long list of the genealogy of Jesus from the Gospel of St Matthew. This is also a beautiful introduction to Matthew’s Gospel, which is a gospel of the presence and the mercy of God in history. Jesus opens our eyes to see his love for us and the dignity of each of us.

“’A genealogy of Jesus Christ, son of David, son of Abraham:…
And Jacob was the father of Joseph the husband of Mary; of her was born Jesus who is called Christ.” – Matthew 1:1-17
