Advent, a time of Hope: Daily Morning Prayer and Reflection, December 20th With Fr Paul Horrocks OMI
Good morning! We invite you to Join Fr Paul for morning prayer.
In today’s scripture reading from Isaiah, we hear a very important prophecy.
The Lord himself, therefore,
will give you a sign.
It is this: the maiden is with child
and will soon give birth to a son
whom she will call Immanuel,
a name which means “God-is-with-us.
This is important because this piece of scripture tests whether we really believe that, as the Angel Gabriel said to Mary, “nothing is impossible to God.” Today we may wish to reflect on how we may have experienced God doing the, “impossible,” in our lives and even more possibly though the, “nobodies,” through the people we least expected could do anything. May this reflection strengthen our hope.
Thank you for joining us in prayer in this final week of our Advent journey together.
