Ask. Knock. Seek. Morning prayer with the Oblates, March 10th With Fr Johnson in London
We join Fr Johnson OMI in Sacred Heart Quex Road for morning prayer and a reflection on prayer and petition in the season of Lent
In today’s gospel passage Jesus speaks about prayer of petition in three words; ask, knock and seek. In other terms Jesus encourages his disciples to keep on asking from God, to keep on searching for God, to keep on knocking on God’s door. Jesus petitioned God for himself and for others. He told Peter that he had being praying for him. On the cross he prayed to God for forgiveness for those who were crucifying him.
Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. – Matthew 7:7-12
