“Choose Life, then!” Morning Prayer with the Oblates, March 3rd With Sr Anne in Crewe
Sr Anne, a member of the Congregation of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit and the assistant director of the Oblate Retreat Centre in Crewe, leads us once more in morning prayer today, Thursday March 3rd.
Yesterday on Ash Wednesday we began the season of Lent with ashes placed on our forehead as a sign of repentance, the call to turn away from sin and to be faithful to the gospel still rings out as a reminder of what Lent is about.
Jesus invites us to take up our cross and follow in his steps to eternal life. Choosing life is not always easy it means sometimes sacrificing or making choices, and because we are human we all stumble or fall. The important thing is to get up again and continue the journey.
“I set before you life or death, blessing or curse. Choose life, then, that you…
may live, in the love of the Lord your God.” Deuteronomy 30:19
Thank you for joining us this morning.
