Commemorating 200 Years of Our Constitutions and Rules: A Renewed Call to Mission

Zoom Meeting Saturday 25th January

We warmly invite all Oblates and members of the Oblate Charismatic Family to our Zoom Animation Meeting, to be held on January 25, 2025, at 14:00 (Local Time in Rome).

As we journey toward the 200th anniversary of the approval of our Constitutions and Rules, we are reminded of the fervent spirit our Founder, St Eugène de Mazenod, sought to kindle in every member of the Oblate Family after this historic approbation on February 18, 1826. In his own words:

“The conclusion we ought to draw, dear friends and Brothers, is that we should strive, with fresh ardor and more complete devotedness, to add to God’s glory as far as it lies in our power to do so, and by every possible means we should work for the salvation of our neighbor; heart and soul, we should cling to our Rules and practice with exactitude everything they prescribe. To do this thoroughly, we should all make our novitiate again, so that we would have ample time to meditate upon the entire content of our Rules”

These words remind us that our mission demands passion and perseverance. We are called not just to follow the Rules, but to let them shape our hearts, minds and daily actions for the glory of God and the salvation of our neighbor. As we commemorate the 200th anniversary of our Constitutions and Rules, let this powerful appeal reawaken our fervor and inspire a fresh commitment to the charism entrusted to us.
