Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! Oblate Family Morning Prayer, March 17th With Rebecca at Croagh Patrick, County Mayo
Good morning friends, today we invite you to join Rebecca from the Oblate Communications Team for morning prayer and reflection on Saint Patrick’s Day at an ancient pilgrimage site associated with Saint Patrick in County Mayo, Ireland. Saint Patrick spent 40 days and nights in prayer and fasting on this mountain, and with the help of a very young storyteller, Rebecca’s niece, today we recount the story of Patrick, who following God’s call, became a missionary to the Irish people, and many others around the world.
We pray for all those who are away from home on this day. We pray too in thanksgiving for the gift of faith and for those that brought that gift to us, remembering that we are all called to be missionaries, representative of the light of the gospel in the lives of those around us. We pray for all those who are away from home on this day. We pray too in thanksgiving for the gift of faith and for those that brought that gift to us, remembering that we are all called to be missionaries, that presence of the light of the gospel in the lives of those around us.
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day to you all!
Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I sit down,
Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through belief in the Threeness,
Through confession of the Oneness
of the Creator of creation.
