“Help the Oppressed” – Morning prayer with the Oblate Family, March 15th
With Kirk Jacob in London
Friends, you are welcome to join Kirk Jacob in London for our short morning prayer, Tuesday March 15th.
“‘Wash, make yourselves clean.
Take your wrong-doing out of my sight.
Cease to do evil.
Learn to do good,
search for justice,
help the oppressed,
be just to the orphan,
plead for the widow.”
Powerful words indeed from the prophet Isaiah. These urgent words are timely – when we flick on our TVs or phones on we are filled with images of the current war in Ukraine, such injustices might not be not too dissimilar to the reality of Isaiah’s time.
What can we do? So many people around the world are sending basic items to the people in Ukraine. Many of our Oblate priests and brothers living out Oblate values of always being close to the people, particularly in their time of need. And of course pray for these people and for the end of this conflict.
Thanks for joining us this morning.
