“You will be his very own people” – Morning prayer with the Oblates, March 12th with Fr Paul Horrocks OMI
Friends, we join Fr Paul Horrocks for morning prayer. Paul is a member of the Inchicore Pastoral Team, working in the parishes of Mary Immaculate, Our Lady of the Wayside Bluebell and St Michael’s.
Today’s reading leads us to reflect on whether the Lord is truly our God. The question is not as simple and straightforward as it may seem. As we try to reflect on this basic question, one of the things we could ask ourselves personally is how dependent I feel on knowing that the Lord is with me? How aware am I of the constant presence of the Lord in my life?
“And the Lord has today made this declaration about you: that you will be his very own people as he promised you, but only if you keep all his commandments; then for praise and renown and honour he will set you high above all the nations he has made, and you will be a people consecrated to the Lord, as he promised.” Deuteronomy 26:17-19
Thanks for joining us this morning.
