“Kairos – Time of Grace” – Sunday Sermon The Social Oblate

“Kairos – Time of Grace”
“Brothers and sisters, our ‘kairos’ is growing short,” states St Paul in the Second Reading. Kairos is an opportune moment, Kairos is the best time to do something, the best moment for something to happen. Kairos is a fitting situation, a suitable place, a limited period, which is marked by suitable circumstances. Kairos is a fitting season.
This Sunday, the 21st of January, the Church celebrates the 3rd Sunday of the Word of God. Pope Francis, by giving us this relatively new feast, is trying to encourage us to live in this personal relationship with the Word of God. Whenever we open the Bible to feed ourselves with God’s Word, with the Gospels, we experience the Time of God’s Grace working within us! By listening to God’s Word, our sight becomes stronger, and our hearts pulse faster from looking at the Lord and from spending our precious time with Him.
