2021 Lourdes Pilgrimage Update Virtual Lourdes Pilgrimage to take place online 17-21 September
Lourdes: Bringing us together
Our Lourdes pilgrimage will take place online from the 17-22 of September 2021. This year, as we did last year, we will participate virtually in all our Pilgrimage events, most of which will be broadcast from the “Irish Lourdes” – the replica Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes at the Oblate Church in Inchicore, Dublin.
There will also be contributions and interactive events with members of our Oblate family from the different areas of our provice – Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales and the island of Jersey. We invite you to participate from your own home – whereever you are. We hope you will have a prayerful, enjoyable and life-giving online pilgrimage.
So, save the dates! Our pilgrimage will begin on September 17 and close on September 21. We hope you take this time to join us as we allow Lourdes to bring us together, no matter where we are, even though we are separated at this time.
Please God, in 2022, we will be able to return to Lourdes once more and experience all Lourdes has to offer together and in person.
Please stayed tuned for more updates and announcements as we approach the dates of the virtual pilgrimage. You will be able to join the virtual pilgrimage here at www.oblates.ie/lourdes2021 or on our facebook page and on our youtube channel.
Kind regards,
The Oblate Lourdes Pilgrimage Team
About the Oblate Pilgrimage to Lourdes:
In 1883 the Missionary Oblates became the first to organise group pilgrimages to Lourdes from Britain and Ireland and have been organising pilgrimages to Lourdes ever since except for during the War years, and now during the Covid 19 pandemic. Every year, pilgrims join us from Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales and the island of Jersey. Some 100 Assisted Pilgrims, who require a special level of care and comfort, travel on pilgrimage with us, staying in the Accueil Notre Dame a residence dedicated for those who need medical oversight or additional assistance. We are also accompanied by 100 members of the Oblate Youth Service.
In coming to Lourdes, we follow in the footsteps of millions of pilgrims from all over the world who have come here before us, carrying with them – as we do – their hopes, burdens and dreams.
Lourdes is a place of healing, a place of hope and a place of encounter.
