Morning Prayer
Morning Prayer for March 17th – St. Patrick’s Day 2023 With Br Michael Moore
Good morning everyone, and welcome to morning prayer with Br Michael Moore, in Ireland.
Today is Saint Patrick’s Day. We’re all familiar with the tradition of Patrick, who, after being kidnapped and sold as a slave, managed to escape and returned to Ireland to proclaim the Gospel.
Patrick heard and responded to God’s call. He followed Jesus as best he could, in his own way and in his own time. But we’re not just remembering Patrick as an heroic figure from the past. We’re honouring him as a living example of what it is to be a disciple of Jesus today. Today, we are celebrating and remembering the slave who became a Christian, the Christian who became a disciple and a disciple who became a missionary.
It’s not just Patrick who was called to be a missionary. We’re all called to follow his example of hearing God’s call, of following Jesus and proclaiming the same Gospel.
Thank you for joining us in prayer today.
