Good morning everyone, and welcome to morning prayer with James.

Today’s reading speaks to the role of the Holy Spirit, where Jesus tells his disciples that he will soon leave them, but that he will send them the Holy Spirit to guide and comfort them. It also highlights the reality of persecution for those who follow Christ. However, Jesus assures his disciples – and us – that the Holy Spirit will be with them to guide and comfort them, no matter what challenges we may face.
