Morning Prayer May 31st: Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary With Olga Slater
Today we celebrate the visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to her cousin, Elizabeth. Mary has just received news that she is to become the mother of God’s son, but she doesn’t take time out to rest but goes to visit Elizabeth. and actually remains with her for three months.
The Magnificat, also known as Mary’s Canticle, sums it all Mary’s gratitude, her love for God and for what he has done for her and for all mankind. We get a sense of her utter humility and faithfulness.
