Morning Prayer: Monday 4th October, Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi With Sr Joy and Amy in Colwyn Bay
We join the Oblate parish of St Joseph’s, Colwyn Bay in North Wales for our morning prayer. Today’s prayer is presented by Sr Joy and Amy.
“Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest. Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light.’” – Matthew 11:28-30
Today’s gospel is so appropriate for today’s feast day. Francis was completely free. His life was totally given to God and he rejoiced in that. He is the patron saint of ecology, and his love of nature is so important for us today. Let us hope and pray to have the same joyfulness of St Francis in our own hearts.
Thanks for joining us this morning.
