Morning prayer with the Oblate Family: Tuesday Sept 13th with Olga Slater
We join Olga Slater in London for today’s reflection. In the gospel, we see Jesus visibly moved as he felt compassion for this widow who had now lost her only remaining son. We wonder if just saw in her a foreshadowing of what his own mother would endure at his death. Olga reflects on how the sense of loss which is being shared by many peoples at the death of Queen Elizabeth has united people from all of all faiths, different colours, religions, this pain unites people. Jesus says to the widow, ‘Do not weep’. Perhaps we too can be comforted by these words during times of loss and sorrow and that they might bring peace.
Thank you for joining us this morning.
