Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Good morning friends, today is Friday June 16th and also the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We join Fr Tom Devereux in Sacred Heart Church Kilburn as the parish marks the feast of its patron.

In the Scripture readings for today, we are continually reminded of the love of God. We celebrate the Feast of Sacred Heart. This devotion became popular following the revelation to a French sister, Sister Mary Margaret Alacoque
in the late 1600s in the middle of France.

Saint Pope John Paul II, who was a great devotee, said,’This feast reminds us of the mystery the love of God
for all the people of all times.’
