Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family – Monday December 6th, 2nd Week of Advent With Ros Appleby
Good Morning. Ros Appleby is praying with each one of us again today from her home in Birkenhead, England.
Ros reflects this morning on the story in today’s gospel where we see a paralysed man with determined friends comes before Jesus. The faith of the man and his friends was inspirational. If we were there, how would our faith in Jesus be challenged? What does the faith of those who helped get their friend to Jesus say to us this morning?
‘What are these thoughts you have in your hearts? Which of these is easier: to say, “Your sins are forgiven you” or to say, “Get up and walk”? But to prove to you that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,’ – he said to the paralysed man – ‘I order you: get up, and pick up your stretcher and go home.’ And immediately before their very eyes he got up, picked up what he had been lying on and went home praising God. – Luke 5:17-26
Thank you for joining us today.
