Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family : November 12th

With Iola in Colwyn Bay, North Wales

Good morning, everyone, and welcome once more to a morning reflection from Saint Joseph’s Parish here in Colwyn Bay in North Wales. We join Iola for our daily prayer on November 12th.

We know that looking at the news every evening, there are sadly many wars taking place in our world today, especially between Ukraine and Russia and most recently between Palestine and Israel. We read about and see the terrible consequences of war and violence. There is a huge loss of life. People are hurt and injured. Many struggle to get food, clean water, medicine, and thousands become homeless.

We may feel helpless when we see these things happening and think that there is nothing we can do. Jesus gives each of us the gift of His peace. This is a gift that we are not meant to keep to ourselves. Jesus asked us to share his peace with those we meet each day. You and I are called to be signs of peace in the world, wherever we are.
