Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family : Saturday October 14th With Jason O’Reilly
Good morning friends. We invite you to join Jason O’Reilly, who works with Kairos Community Trust in London, for our morning prayer.
The prominent theme for today’s reading and the relatively short chapters of the Book of Joel is one of repentance, the power of prayer and fasting, and a warning from God through Joel during a turbulent time in the history of Israel, a time when the people of Judah will be invaded and deported to Babylon. But there is hope, as Joel tells them, to consider the present dire situation of famine, drought and the coming persecution for God promises his people a future of peace.
Lord, help us to remember throughout today to turn to you and to give you our fears and difficulties, and to ask for your help in growing faith so that we may become ever closer to you and learn from you.
We hope you enjoy this morning’s reflection.
