Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family: Sunday December 1st With Gerard in Darndale-Belcamp
Good morning friends. We invite you to join Gerard Bissett, from the Parish of Darndale-Belcamp, Dublin, for today’s morning prayer on the first Sunday of Advent, December 1st.
Gospel | Luke 21:25-28,34-36 ©
That day will be sprung on you suddenly, like a trap
Gerard reflects: ‘In the gospel, Jesus tells us to stay awake, praying at all times for the strength to survive all that’s going to happen in life. We don’t always know what is going to happen so that when we pray, we must pray and hope. This Sunday, several symbols of advent in our church remind us of its significance. The advent wreath and the use of the color purple and the simplicity of the altar with limited flowers. Advent carries a sense of quiet reflection, inviting us to prepare thoughtfully for the joyous celebration of Christmas.’
Thank you for joining us this morning.
