Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family – Sunday December 5th, 2nd Sunday of Advent With Ros Appleby
Good Morning. Ros Appleby is praying with each one of us this second Sunday of Advent from her home in England as she reflects on the scripture readings of today.
In last Sunday’s gospel we hear that we must stay awake and be ready to welcome Christ, and that we have to grow up a bit in our faith and look afresh at how we can keep that faith in Jesus alive and active in our lives. We are encouraged to look, listen and hear the word of God and pray hard to become more Christ-like in the way we love and live our lives. But Saint Paul tells us in today’s reading that God who began this work in us will see that it is finish when the day of Christ comes…
Ros reminds us that Advent is a good time to begin again in our desire to live out our faith.
“I am quite certain that the One who began this good work in you will see that it is finished when the Day of Christ Jesus comes; and God knows how much I miss you all, loving you as Christ Jesus loves you.” – St Paul
Thanks for joining us today.
