Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family – Sunday November 28th, 1st Sunday of Advent

Good Morning. Ann Marie Sisson is praying with each one of us this first Sunday of Advent from the Oblate parish of Our Lady of the Wayside in Dublin.
Today we enter Advent tide, a new liturgical year, in which we meditate upon the life of Our Lord Jesus Christ, beginning with Advent in which we prepare ourselves for the birth of Christ.
“And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand erect, hold your heads high, because your liberation is near at hand.” Gospel of Luke
Perhaps we ask ourselves the question: why did God become man ?
God became man to save us, we need salvation because man has turned himself away from God by sin, he broke the friendship with God. And here is God in his infinite love who in response does not turn away from us, but rather comes to us, becomes like us, even dies like us. Nothing is too much for God to save us.
Thank you for joining us today in our morning prayer.
May God bless you all!
