Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family Tuesday 30th August

With Rosemary in Leith

Good morning everyone! For the next few day we are joining members of the Oblate parish of Saint Mary’s, Star of the Sea in Leith, Edinburgh. Today we invite you to join Rosemary Gillon for our morning prayer.

Today’s gospel tells us that Jesus spoke with authority – authority is a concept that appears throughout the bible. We pray for all those in authority, those who rule and lead on earth. We pray they use the authority given them by God for the good of all people and may their laws always conform to what is pleasing to God.

“Astonishment seized them and they were all saying to one another, ‘What teaching! He gives orders to unclean spirits with authority and power and they come out.’” – Luke 4:31-37
