Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family: Wednesday June 21st With Fr Michael Brady OMI
Good morning friends, today we join Fr Michael Brady OMI for our prayer. We celebrate today the feast of Saint Aloysius Gonzaga, who was a young Jesuit dedicated to working with the poorest of the poor during the time of the plague in 1500s Italy. He himself contracted the deadly disease while caring for the sick and subsequently died as a result. He died at the age of 29 and is the patron of youth today. So we pray for all our youth that they have the same moral courage and vision. He got tremendous courage out of his his friendship with Christ. He cultivated his friendship with Christ which helps us to answer the questions that come to us on the road of life.
“And your father, who sees it all, all of that is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not imitate the hypocrite.” – Matthew 6:1-6,16-18
Thank you for taking the time to break open the scriptures with us this morning.
