Morning Prayer with the Oblates: Thursday August 5th

Good morning friends. Today, Thursday August 5th, we join Mary Tyrell in her home in England for morning prayer. Mary is a member of the Oblate Partners in Mission Team.



But you,’ he said ‘who do you say I am?’ Then Simon Peter spoke up, ‘You are the Christ,’ he said, ‘the Son of the living God.’ Matthew 16:13-23

As the disciples began to fully understand who Jesus really was, what it meant that he is “The Son of God”, they must have been disturbed and shocked as they begin to realise that he was not just a good teacher, or a prophet – he was the anointed one of God. It’s the same in our lives too, once we believe and realise that Jesus is more than just a man, it forces us to change how we approach him. We might ask ourselves, who do I say that Jesus is?
