Morning Prayer with the Oblates, Thursday June 24th – Nativity of Saint John the Baptist With Joyce
We invite you to join Joyce Fegan, a parishioner of St Mary’s Star of the Sea in Edinburgh as we celebrate the Solemnity of the nativity of Saint John the Baptist.
John’s parents Elizabeth and Zechariah, sensed his uniqueness before he was born. Even though an angel did not announce our arrival as infants, God knew us in our mother’s womb before we were born, loving us into existence and into the world.
John knew too, from an early age, what his mission in life was. Many of us take a lot longer what our “mission” in life is! But through our faith in God, we can learn to recognise a chance to help another, if even in a small way.
Thank you for sharing this time with us this morning.
