Oblate Family Morning Prayer: June 23rd

Dear friends, we invite you to join Fr Michael for prayer today.

“Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Do not store up treasures for yourselves on earth, where moths and woodworms destroy them and thieves can break in and steal. But store up treasures for yourselves in heaven, where neither moth nor woodworms destroy them and thieves cannot break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” – Matthew 6:19-23

Jesus is helping us to see the fickleness of that which, unfortunately, a lot of people spend their lives working for. And he invites us to build up for ourselves treasure in heaven. So for those who believe, and with the gift of faith, it is the word of Christ asking us to be very careful not to be turned aside from the way the truth of the life which he is, and to develop the friendship which he established not by our merit, but by his grace and his choice.
