Oblate Family Morning Prayer: June 30th With Fr Dermot Mills OMI
Good morning and welcome to today’s Oblate Family Morning Prayer. Today we join Fr Dermot Mills OMI in Dublin for today’s time of prayer together.
In today’s gospel we hear about the leper who approached Jesus. He said:
“If you want to you, you can cure me.”
To which Jesus replied, “Of course I want to. Be cured.” And the man was cured immediately.
He shouldn’t even have been there with Jesus because of his disease. He was just an outcast. It was a perpetual, lifelong lockdown for him. It was bad enough with two years of COVID, what was it like for someone with leprosy locked down, isolated for life, for life with nothing to hope for?
But God’s love for him had broken through the fear, the shame, the pain… He realised he was loved!
We hope you enjoy this morning’s reflection and we thank you for continuing to pray together as a community of faith and hope.
