Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Monday March 21st With Wendy Spillane
Today we invite you to join Wendy Spillane, a member of the Oblate parish of St Joseph’s, Colwyn Bay in North Wales for our morning prayer.
Now we are in the third week of Lent. In today’s gospel story of healing, we find care for the outsider – the outsider by nationality and also by culture – the foreigner was outcast to he Pharisees and the widow was a neglected group. Jesus’ mission was to all – especially the outsider. We pray for people who are in that situation.
“Truly, I say to you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown. But in truth, I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heavens were shut up three years and six months, and a great famine came over all the land, and Elijah was sent to none of them but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. – Luke 4 24-26
We continue pray for the people of Ukraine and Russia and an end to the violence of the current war.
Thank you for praying with us.
