Morning Prayer
Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Monday October 23rd With Rebecca on Anglesey
Good morning and welcome to Morning Prayer, which is coming to you from the island of Anglesey in Wales. We invite you to join Rebecca Coyne on this Monday of Week 29th in Ordinary time, October 23rd 2023.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus warns us to be on our guard against avarice or being extremely greedy for wealth. And Jesus also reminds us that our lives are not made secure by what we own. When we hear this parable at first, it seems to be a sensible thing to save for the future. But this rich man believes that his security lies in having a great quantity of material things.
So let’s pray that our hearts may become more open to relying on God. And’s also in a particular way, we pray for peace.
Thank you for joining us this morning.
