Oblate Family Morning Prayer : Tuesday August 29th With Fr Martin Moran OMI
Good morning, everyone. We join Fr Martin for morning prayer on the 29th of August. Today is the Feast of the Passion of Saint John the Baptist and I imagine each of us have various images of Saint John the Baptist. Perhaps we recall those days even before he was born. When he left in his mother’s womb. Perhaps we have an image of somebody dressed in rough clothing, eating locusts in the desert, proclaiming the way of the Lord. Or perhaps some of us have that image of that very dramatic scene that we hear of in today’s gospel…
Today is a feast day for all of us to reflect on that part of our lives, that part of our lives where we allow our ego to take over. We allow that to dominate what we’re doing, as opposed to in the quiet moments of prayer, listen to our true self.
