The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Wednesday 20th December 2023

Good morning all, and welcome to morning prayer. We join the Youth of El Shaddai, London, to pray as a community of faith and hope together and reflect on today’s gospel.

On this Advent Day and at this Advent time, we pray with longing and waiting for your coming. Our hearts are inspired by the warmth of your love. And our minds are searching for the life of your word in peace, our longing for Christ, our Saviour, and give us the strength to grow in love, that the dawn of this coming may find us rejoicing in this presence.

In the story of the Annunciation, every admirable thing that the Angel says about Mary points back to God. Nothing is merited, for everything is sheer grace. Mary is like the moon in relation to the sun, reflecting the beauty and goodness of the maker.
