Oblate Family Morning Prayer – Wednesday August 16th With Rosemary Gillon in Leith
Good morning and welcome to Morning Prayer for today, August 16th, the Feast of Saint Stephen of Hungary. We join Rosemary Gillon, a member of St Mary Star of the Sea Parish in Leith, Edinburgh.
Saint Stephen of Hungary converted his country to Christianity and set up many monasteries and abbeys. He looked after the poor and neglected, in fact, distributing alms himself, putting his life in danger at times. In this gospel reading, we are told how to look after children. And we are told that anyone who welcomes them welcomes them in God’s name, and we see how this links in with the one of the stories of Saint Stephen of Hungary’s life.
Lord, we pray for the strength and courage to do all that you ask us to do today. May we treat everyone we meet with kindness and dignity. #prayer #catholic #saintstephen #morning #oblate #oblates
