Oblate Morning Prayer, Friday January 7th With Olga Slater
Good morning, we join Olga Slater in London for morning prayer.
But now more than ever the word about Jesus spread abroad; many crowds would gather to hear him and to be cured of their diseases. But he would withdraw to deserted places and pray. – Luke 5:12-16
Jesus withdrew to deserted places to pray. In scripture, we often read that after teaching the crowds, Jesus would go to a deserted place to pray to the Father.
Our lives get so busy with many things to do and think about. Perhaps we find that we haven’t even had a chance to think about the opportunity about withdrawing to deserted places, and life goes on.
For many of us, lockdown has given us the opportunity to slow down and adopt new ways of thinking and living. Perhaps in 2022, we could make it a habit to go to a “deserted place” a quiet space to pray and to give time to the Lord.
Thanks for joining us today.
